11 - 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
12 - 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper, adjust to taste

→ Biscuit Topping

13 - 1 can (6 count) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits or homemade equivalent

→ Garlic Butter Finish

14 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
15 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
16 - 2 teaspoons fresh garlic, minced
17 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C and lightly butter a 33x23 cm baking dish. Set aside.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Add diced onion and cook for 8 minutes until soft and translucent.
03 - Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Sprinkle flour evenly and whisk constantly for 1 minute until lightly browned.
04 - Gradually pour in chicken broth and milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Continue whisking until smooth and the mixture thickens.
05 - Add broccoli florets, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook uncovered for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until broccoli is tender.
06 - Add shredded chicken and cheddar cheese. Stir until cheese melts fully and the mixture is creamy.
07 - Remove skillet from heat and transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Evenly arrange 6 biscuits on top.
08 - Bake for 15 minutes until biscuits are golden and cooked through. The filling should be bubbling at the edges.
09 - While casserole bakes, combine melted butter, salt, minced garlic, and parsley in a small bowl.
10 - Immediately brush garlic butter over hot biscuit tops after removing from oven. Cool 5 minutes before serving.

# Notes & Tips:

01 - Rotisserie or any cooked chicken offers convenience; substitute as needed.
02 - For best results, use fresh broccoli. Thawed and drained frozen broccoli may be substituted.
03 - Brushing biscuits with garlic butter imparts robust flavor and moisture.
04 - Leftover portions reheat well and maintain texture.
