Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausages and diced onion. Sauté until the sausages are browned and the onions have softened.

Stir in minced garlic, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in chicken broth, scraping any caramelized bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the pasta and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook uncovered for 10 minutes.

Add chopped zucchini to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and zucchini is tender.

Remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice, 60 grams Parmesan cheese, halved grape tomatoes, and chopped basil until well combined.

Scatter remaining Parmesan over the pasta before serving. Enjoy warm.
