Place sliced purple cabbage in a large heatproof bowl and pour boiling water over it. Let steep until the water turns deep blue, approximately 5 minutes. Strain out the cabbage and allow the liquid to cool completely.

Once the cabbage-infused water has cooled, pour it into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, around 4 hours.

Combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and lemonade in a medium pitcher or measuring cup. Stir to integrate.

Moisten the rims of serving glasses with a lime wedge, then dip them into kosher or coarse sea salt to coat evenly.

Place purple cabbage ice cubes into each prepared glass. Pour the margarita mixture over the ice and garnish each glass with a lime wedge before serving.
