Cowboy Casserole Tater Tot (Print-Friendly Version)

Ground beef, cheddar, corn, and bacon baked under crispy tater tots for a comforting, all-in-one family favorite.

01 - 680 grams ground beef (85/15 lean)
02 - 240 millilitres corn kernels
03 - 160 millilitres condensed cream of mushroom soup
04 - 115 grams sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (divided)
05 - 80 millilitres whole milk
06 - 60 millilitres sour cream
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
08 - 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
09 - 55 grams cooked bacon, crumbled
10 - 900 grams frozen tater tots

# Steps:

01 - Set oven to 190°C and grease a 23x33-centimetre baking dish.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, breaking it up, until browned and no pink remains.
03 - Add corn, condensed cream of mushroom soup, half of the shredded cheddar, milk, sour cream, onion powder, black pepper, and crumbled bacon to the skillet. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
04 - Evenly spread the beef mixture in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese and arrange tater tots in a single layer over the top.
05 - Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until tater tots are golden and crisp.
06 - Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining cheese on top of the hot tater tots, and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese melts.

01 - Allow the casserole to rest 5–10 minutes before slicing to help it set for easier serving.
02 - Frozen, fresh, or well-drained canned corn can be used interchangeably.
03 - Prepare bacon ahead of time or use pre-cooked bacon pieces for convenience.
