Easy Homemade Eggnog Drink (Print-Friendly Version)

Classic eggnog, creamy and rich, blended with nutmeg and vanilla. Ideal chilled for festive sipping.

# Ingredients:

→ Base Mixture

01 - 4 egg yolks from pasteurized eggs
02 - 80 grams granulated sugar
03 - 480 millilitres whole milk
04 - 240 millilitres heavy cream
05 - 0.5 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
06 - 1.5 teaspoons freshly grated nutmeg

# Steps:

01 - In the bowl of a stand mixer, whisk egg yolks on medium speed until smooth and slightly thickened.
02 - Gradually add granulated sugar while mixing, beating until the mixture turns pale and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
03 - Reduce mixer speed to low and slowly blend in whole milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and freshly grated nutmeg.
04 - Transfer the mixture to a jug, cover, and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. Serve cold, garnished with additional grated nutmeg if desired.

# Notes & Tips:

01 - For optimal flavour, grate whole nutmeg using a microplane just before serving.
