Easy Meatloaf with Glaze (Print-Friendly Version)

Tender ground beef loaf topped with a caramelized sweet glaze, ready in just over an hour.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1.5 pounds ground beef
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 1 cup whole milk
04 - 1 cup dried bread crumbs
05 - 1 onion, chopped
06 - Salt and pepper, to taste

→ Glaze

07 - 1/3 cup ketchup
08 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar
09 - 2 tablespoons prepared mustard

# Steps:

01 - Cook chopped onions in a skillet over medium-low heat until translucent and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
02 - In a large bowl, mix ground beef, sautéed onions, milk, bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper until just combined. Avoid overmixing to maintain tender texture. Transfer to a lightly greased 9x5-inch loaf pan and shape evenly.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and prepared mustard until smooth. Spread glaze evenly over the top of the meat mixture.
04 - Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F measured with an instant-read thermometer.
05 - Allow meatloaf to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to retain juices. Serve warm with preferred sides.

# Notes & Tips:

01 - Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure perfect doneness and avoid overcooking.
02 - Letting the meatloaf rest before slicing helps keep it moist and prevents crumbling.
03 - Substitute bread crumbs with crushed crackers or oats for a different texture.
