French Toast Sausage Roll-Ups (Print-Friendly Version)

Crisp golden bread rolled with sausage, ideal for breakfast, kids, or parties. Easy and dippable.

# Ingredients:

→ For the roll-ups

01 - 10 slices white sandwich bread
02 - 10 fully cooked pork sausage links

→ For the French toast coating

03 - 3 large eggs
04 - 120 millilitres whole milk
05 - 35 grams granulated sugar
06 - 2 grams ground cinnamon
07 - 5 millilitres vanilla extract
08 - 8 grams all-purpose flour
09 - Butter, for greasing the pan

# Steps:

01 - Press each bread slice flat using a rolling pin or clean hands; remove crusts for neater roll-ups, if desired.
02 - Place a sausage link along one end of each piece of bread and tightly roll up. Set aside on a plate.
03 - In a shallow dish, thoroughly whisk eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and flour until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
04 - Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Generously grease with butter to prevent sticking.
05 - Dip each assembled roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides evenly.
06 - Place roll-ups on the hot pan. Cook, turning frequently, until all sides are golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes total.
07 - Remove from heat and serve immediately while warm, accompanied by maple syrup for dipping or drizzling.

# Notes & Tips:

01 - The egg mixture can be prepared up to one day in advance and refrigerated for convenience.
02 - Leftover cooked roll-ups store well for up to two days and can be reheated in a microwave, toaster oven, or air fryer.
03 - Explore sweet variations by substituting sausage with Nutella, strawberry cream cheese, or peanut butter with banana slices.
04 - Roll-ups freeze well for up to three months; reheat directly from frozen in the microwave or toaster oven.
