Golden Crispy Cheese Doritos (Print-Friendly Version)

Crispy Doritos-coated pockets filled with gooey cheddar and mozzarella for a bold, crunchy snack.

# Ingredients:

→ Cheese Filling

01 - 12 slices cheddar cheese or cheddar-mozzarella blend

→ Wrappers and Sealant

02 - 12 wonton wrappers
03 - 1 large egg, beaten

→ Coating

04 - 1 cup crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos
05 - 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
06 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
08 - Salt to taste

→ Frying

09 - Oil for deep frying

→ Garnish (optional)

10 - Finely chopped parsley

# Steps:

01 - In a bowl, combine crushed Doritos, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Mix thoroughly and set aside to create a crispy, flavorful coating.
02 - Place one slice of cheese in the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold diagonally into a triangle and firmly seal edges using beaten egg to prevent leakage during frying.
03 - Dip each sealed triangle into the egg wash again, then press into the Dorito breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even coat on all sides.
04 - Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F. Fry the triangles in small batches for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
05 - Remove the fried pockets with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately with preferred dips.

# Notes & Tips:

01 - Use cheese blends that melt well such as mozzarella or pepper jack for variety. Ensure wrappers are tightly sealed to avoid bursting during frying.
02 - For a baked alternative, bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway for even crispiness.
03 - Assemble in advance and freeze uncooked on a tray; fry directly from frozen with an extended fry time.
