If necessary, trim the ham, then place it in a slow cooker. Combine melted butter and honey, then massage the mixture evenly over the ham, working some between the slices. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.

In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar, seasoned salt, onion powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger, ground cloves, paprika, and allspice. Mix thoroughly.
03 -
Preheat broiler to high. Line a roasting pan with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Pat half of the sugar spice mixture over the surface of the ham. Broil for several minutes until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized, then remove ham from oven.
04 -
In a small saucepan, combine the remaining sugar mixture with 45 ml of water or collected ham juices from the slow cooker. For additional flavor, substitute part of the liquid with a splash of bourbon if desired. Stir and bring to a boil. Boil for about 1 minute, then remove from heat.
05 -
Brush or pour the prepared glaze over the ham. Broil again for 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. Remove from oven and allow the ham to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
06 -
Slice and serve warm or cold as preferred.

To prepare in the oven, preheat oven to 135°C. Line a roasting pan or large Dutch oven with a long sheet of heavy-duty foil. Position ham flat side down, brush with honey-butter mixture, and loosely cover with foil. Bake for approximately 12–15 minutes per 450 g. For a 3.6 kg ham, bake for about 1 hour 30 to 40 minutes, then continue with caramelization and glazing steps as directed.
