Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate crescent dough into 4 rectangles, sealing the seams by pinching as needed, then cut each rectangle lengthwise into thin strips.

Cut each slice of American cheese into 4 thin strips for wrapping.

Place one hot dog on a piece of cheese, then wrap with approximately 4 strips of crescent dough to resemble bandages. Repeat for all hot dogs.

Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet and brush evenly with melted butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and fully cooked.

Use a toothpick to dot Dijon mustard onto each hot dog to create eyes after baking.
