Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread (Print-Friendly Version)

Crispy French bread topped with ribeye steak, peppers, onions, mushrooms and melty provolone cheese in just 40 minutes.

01 - 8 ounces ribeye steak, thinly sliced
02 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
03 - 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper, divided
04 - 1 tablespoon canola oil
05 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
06 - 2 tablespoons butter
07 - 1 green bell pepper, sliced
08 - 1 yellow onion, sliced
09 - 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
10 - 1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
11 - 1/3 cup mayonnaise
12 - 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
02 - Season the steak with half of the salt and pepper and coat with canola oil.
03 - Heat a cast iron skillet on high heat and cook the steak for 2 minutes without stirring or flipping. Add Worcestershire sauce and stir.
04 - Remove steak from the skillet and add butter, green bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and the remaining salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly browned.
05 - Spread mayonnaise evenly over both halves of the French bread.
06 - Layer half of the provolone cheese on the bread, followed by the cooked steak and vegetables, and top with the remaining cheese.
07 - Place the bread on the middle rack and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and browned.
