→ Dough and Assembly

10 - 1 can (454 g) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 pieces)
11 - 15 ml maple syrup, plus extra for brushing
12 - 1 egg, beaten
13 - Sesame seeds, optional for topping

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 190°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until browned. Stir in ketchup and mustard, then cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
03 - Flatten each biscuit dough round into a 10 cm circle using your hands or a rolling pin.
04 - Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each dough circle. Top with shredded cheddar and chopped bacon. Drizzle with a little maple syrup.
05 - Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to encase, pinching to seal completely and form a ball. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
06 - Brush each ball with beaten egg and a little maple syrup. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
07 - Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
08 - Let cool for several minutes before serving to allow the filling to set.

# Notes & Tips:

01 - For extra sweetness, use maple-candied bacon in place of regular bacon.
02 - These can be frozen after baking and reheated in the oven.
03 - Serve with pickles or a dipping sauce such as chipotle mayo or BBQ ranch.
